We are well into the 4th quarter of 2015, it’s unbelievable how this year has flown! If you are like most businesses, meeting yearly projections and goals are at the forefront of your mind right now. However, one of the most important things you can be doing for your business right now is making sure your digital marketing strategy for next year is being crafted. Waiting until December or even (gasp) January to have a plan for the year can put you miles behind your competitors. Get your budget together now, and make sure these 3 key elements are present in your 2016 digital marketing strategy:
- An updated, responsive and search optimized website. If you haven’t done this already, stop what you are doing right now and get it together, man! (Or woman!) This is the foundation for not only your digital marketing strategy, but your entire business! If you don’t lay the foundation, you can start building the framework. You get it right? The foundation is a fully responsive and updated website, the framework is, well…everything else!
- Social media marketing. Look, if you are still resisting the social media revolution, I’ve got some harsh news for you: Get over it or be left in the dust! This is a low cost and highly effective way to reach your ideal customers and engage and respond to your existing and loyal clients. There is a platform for every target imaginable, and done correctly can reap huge returns. We have our favorites (hello Facebook), and the landscape is ever changing when it comes to social. It’s time.
- Content marketing. Yes, it has been the most overused phrase of the past year, and I will say it again, “Content is king!” Producing consistent, relevant content is the key factor in how you will be found digitally. Blogging, free white papers, news feeds, informational videos and newsletters all contribute. People go to the internet for entertainment, information and education. The type of business you have is directly relevant to which of these categories you will supply in the way of relevant content. The more original, relevant content you have, the more opportunities you have to publish it on various social, native and other various channels, driving more traffic back to your site.
Naturally there are other products you can put your dollars towards such as search engine marketing, pay per click, and other traditional methods. The 3 key points above will ensure the rest of your marketing efforts will have a solid foundation on which to build. If you need help strategizing for 2016, please contact us!
